Still ugly outside today. Is January permanently gray? I've been listening to some music I took out of the library, folk tunes about animals. Here're some lyrics I keep getting stuck in my head:

Old grand Sal was the mother of them all
Fed them on groundhog before they could crawl
Groundhog!

Yuck.

It reminds me of a travel show I saw once, where the host visited a South American country where the national specialty was deep fried, whole guinea pig. In the restaurant the host couldn't bring himself to eat it, so a native patron, a nicely dressed woman, took pity on him, and offered to eat it for him. "A mi me gusta la cabeza!" she said, and bit off the head.

Today I made a bundt cake for the girls, chocolate chip cookies for Mr. Crazy. Made broccoli, string beans, snow peas, and calrose rice. Swept in the morning, did the dishes, took care of the cat. I should do the laundry but don't feel like it.

I have been fighting with the wireless connection all day. Why can't they make this sort of thing easy for people like me? Like having ON and OFF buttons, or a "PUT A PASSWORD ON YOUR NETWORK" button?

Instead they have phrases like "infrastructure" and "ad hoc," or "hexadecimal values." How am I supposed to know what a hexadecimal value is? Or the difference between a WPA-PSK and a WEP? Who understands this stuff in the normal world??
