A gentle, beautiful rain today; when you garden, rain is a lovely thing. The gray cat has been kicked out of the house because he was avoiding his litter box, as it were. He howled pitifully as though outside for the first time, but soon was trotting about the yard. Grocery store. So many groceries. Could five people really consume so much? It's a miracle we're all not 300 pounds. Constantly cooking. Kids only want sweets and crackers. The children's dressers need to be emptied out as their clothes no longer fit; all the new clothes I've bought have nowhere to go. So I sort for storage: will there be another girl, another boy, another either? Throw away anthing with stains or that was donated by the neighbors; keep everything else. I always wonder, while folding during these empty-out-the-dresser sessions: will there be another squiggling body to fill this garment out? |
